Professional Carpet Cleaning Services
Ajax Carpet Service has been deep-cleaning carpets across Northwest Indiana since 1978 using truck-mounted hot water extraction — the method recommended by every major carpet manufacturer. We remove embedded dirt, allergens, dust mites, and stains that vacuuming alone cannot reach, while protecting your fibers and your home.
Hot water extraction, done right
Our trucks carry industrial-grade equipment that heats water to roughly 230°F and extracts up to 95% of the moisture from your carpet in a single pass. That means deeper cleaning than a portable unit can deliver, faster drying (usually 6–12 hours), and no soapy residue left behind to attract new dirt. We pre-vacuum, pre-treat high-traffic lanes and visible spots, agitate stubborn areas, and then make multiple extraction passes until the water coming back out runs clear. Every job ends with a fiber grooming pass so the carpet dries upright and looks freshly installed.
Safe for kids, pets, and sensitive lungs
We use non-toxic, eco-friendly cleaning solutions and rinse them out completely with hot water. There is no chemical film left for crawling babies, napping dogs, or anyone with asthma or allergies. Independent studies show professional hot water extraction removes a large majority of dust mites, pet dander, pollen, and bacteria trapped in residential carpet — and we follow the IICRC standards that make that result repeatable. If you have specific sensitivities, just tell the technician and we will adjust the chemistry.
Honest evaluations, honest pricing
We come out and look at the carpet before we quote — no high-pressure phone estimate, no surprise upcharges once the truck is parked. Most Northwest Indiana homes fall in a predictable range, and we will tell you up front whether a deep clean will actually fix the issue or whether you need spot repair, restretching, or something else. After 45+ years in Hammond we would rather earn the next ten jobs than oversell one.

Frequently Asked Questions
How long will my carpet take to dry?
Most carpets are dry to the touch in 6–12 hours when we use truck-mounted extraction. Run ceiling fans, open a window, or turn on the HVAC fan to speed it up. We always make extra extraction passes in high-humidity months.
How often should carpets be professionally cleaned?
Most manufacturers — and most carpet warranties — require professional cleaning every 12 to 18 months. Homes with pets, kids, allergies, or heavy traffic should plan on every 6 to 12 months.
Will hot water extraction shrink or damage my carpet?
No. Modern synthetic carpets (nylon, polyester, olefin) are designed for hot water extraction. We adjust water temperature and chemistry for wool and other specialty fibers, and we test in an inconspicuous area first.
Do you move furniture?
We move standard living-room and bedroom furniture (sofas, chairs, dining tables, end tables, light beds). We do not move pianos, electronics, china cabinets, or anything heavy enough to risk damage. We will clean around what stays.
